Test
Our goal with our 5th through 8th grade football teams, is to provide a fun and fundamentally sound experience that will help them develop the skills they will need for everyday life and football at the high school level. We strive to create an atmosphere that promotes strong character, hard work ethics, and sportsmanship.
Grades
Players entering 5th through 8th grades in the Fall of 2025.
When
The 2025 season kicks off with equipment handout on Saturday, August 2nd, followed by the first practice on Monday, August 4th. The regular season concludes on Saturday, October 25th. Equipment return will vary depending on grade.
*Please note: The schedule will initially not show games for the weeks of October 18th and 25th. We WILL still have games on those dates whether the 8th grade teams make the playoffs or not. For those 8th graders who will be going on the Washington D.C. trip on the 18th, please speak with your teachers about the optional flight later in the evening.
Where
Practices are held behind Templeton Middle School in Sussex, on and near the varsity practice fields.
Home games will be held in the same location as practices and away games will vary based on opponents. Away game information will be available in the schedule section of your players team page.
Practices
Practices are typically 2 hours long (5:15 pm to 7:15 pm) and typically 4-5 nights per week before school starts. After school starts, practices will be 3 nights per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) and times will vary based on light availability. Coaches will individually let families what time to expect practice to end as light fades.
Games
Games are hosted every Saturday starting on September 6th and ending on October 25th, with the exception of 5th grade playing their last game on October 18th.
8th graders will have the opportunity to play for a championship game that will be hosted on Saturday, November 1st. Overall record and conference standing will determine playoff eligibility. Playoff games for 8th grade will start on October 18th. If both playoff games are won, then they will qualify for the 8th grade championship game.
Equipment
All equipment will be provided by the team. Equipment handout will be held on Saturday, August 2nd from 8 am to 1 pm. Please have all payments made and your volunteer check in hand, or equipment will not be distrubuted.
*Volunteer checks will not be cashed unless volunteer hours are not met throughout the season.
